Secure attachment at infancy enables better conflict solving as adult

An interesting piece at the iVillage states the conclusions of a recent study: Having a good, secure attachment as a baby, between the age of 1 to 18 months, will enable better conflict resolution and coping capabilities as an adult. The long-term research found that adults who had lesser quality attachments as babies, had difficulties leaving a conflict behind, whereas 
"those who had more so-called 'secure' attachments to their childhood caregivers seemed to have less of a problem dealing with conflict in the present. In other words, caregivers who had more success regulating the negative emotions of their young wards instilled them with better coping skills for dealing with negative emotions as adults".
The researchers still found hope for those saddled with a less optimal past. Unsurprisingly, it turns out that the nature of the adult spouse can determine a lot. Having a partner who has a good ability to recover well from a conflict and leave negative emotions behind, that partner can be a guide for his less-capable spouse. 



The researches expressed their optimism, admiring the strength and importance of the people we may meet later in our lives, who can change the consequences of what happened earlier. 

As a parent, such an article gives us both another reason to be concerned about our quality as care-givers, and another bit of hope. Even if we failed to be optimal parents at our child's infancy, as hard as we strive for our best, we can try and make up later, by trying to teach our loved ones of the qualities they should seek in their spouses, so they can find happiness and peace in their adult life.

וכמו בפוסט הקודם, וכמו בכל התייחסות לתכנים לילדים מyoutube או מכל מקור אחר, כמה הערות על דברים שכדאי להיות מודעים להם:
  1. כל התוכן בשפה זרה. זה לא באמת משנה בהקשר הזה, ב-95% מהתכנים, ומה אפשר לעשות - המכונות המעניינות באמת מגיעות בגדלים ובמקומות שלא מדברים בהם בעברית.... 
  2. העובדה שהרשימה הורכבה לפעוט בגיל כמעט-שנתיים, אין בה כדי לומר שהסרטים לא מתאימים לגילאים גבוהים יותר...  
  3. כשמתחילים לראות סרטונים ביוטיוב מהר מאוד מתרגלים לממשק הנוח, זורמים איתו וצופים בתכנים חדשים - 
  • כדאי לשים לב ולהיות ערניים כשנתקלים בסרט שלא ראיתם קודם. כל הסרטונים כאן מתאימים לדעתי לפעוטות וילדים, נכון לצפיה האחרונה שלי בהם. אבל הסרטים שעשויים להיות מומלצים לכם על ידי יוטיוב כשאתם זורמים מסרט לסרט עשויים להפתיע אתכם. אם לא בהמלצה הראשונה, בוודאי ברביעית או בחמישית. היו ערניים ! 
  • ובכל זאת, כדאי לזרום. זה כיף, וכל זמן שלא שוכחים את האזהרה שבהערה הקודמת  , יש ביוטיוב הרבה יותר מהנראה לעין במבט ראשון. מומלץ בחום.

סרטוני שירים לילדים ששווה להכיר songs for kids

ים מאוד אוהב שירים וסרטונים (קליפים). מאחר ואיננו רוצים לחשוף אותו לטלוויזיה בשלב מוקדם זה של חייו, הפשרה המתבקשת - שירי ילדים וסרטונים בעברית ובאנגלית,  ב-youtube , בליווי מבוגר צמוד.

ריכזתי כאן כמה שירים וסרטונים שאנחנו מאוד אוהבים ב-youtube (יותר נכון: מאוד אהבנו; אחרי הפעם העשרים ומשהו קצת התעייפנו ... אבל ים, כמו כל פעוט בן כמעט שנתיים, לא מתעייף ועדיין מאוד אוהב):

[כמה הבהרות:
  1. חלק גדול מהתוכן באנגלית; זה גם נובע מההבדלים בעושר הסרטונים בלע"ז לעומת בעברית אבל גם בגלל שאנחנו לא מתנגדים בכלל לכך שים יקלוט קצת אנגלית ונמנים על אסכולת אף-פעם-לא-מוקדם-מדי-להחשף-לשפה-נוספת;
  2. אני מתנצל מראש על העיצוב הפשטני הנוכחי; יש לי כוונות לעבד את הפוסט הזה בעתיד, אם יהיה זמן, כך שהוא יהיה נוח יותר לשימוש; אבל בינתיים הוא נועד להיות בעיקר קל לעיון ולשימוש;
  3. כרגע אין שום משמעות לסדר בו מובאים הקישורים; בהתחשב בכך שההעדפות הן גם עניין של מצב רוח, גם סידור מסויים עשוי להפוך להיות לא רלוונטי תוך שבוע-שבועיים בגילאים הרלוונטיים....
  4. התרגומים של שמות השירים משפה לשפה נעשו במהלך ההקלדה והם לא השמות הרשמיים וכנראה גם לא תרגומים מיטביים. הם נעשו לבקשת הקהל, כדי לאפשר זיהוי כלשהוא של השיר העתיד להתנגן.
  5. העובדה שהרשימה הורכבה לפעוט בגיל כמעט-שנתיים, אין בה כדי לומר שהסרטים לא מתאימים לגילאים גבוהים יותר... לפחות על עצמי אני יכול להעיד שאני נהנה נהניתי מהם גם בגילי המתקדם.]

I have concentrated here some of the songs and clips we really love on youtube (more accurately: we really loved; after the 20th view we got a little tired... but Yam, like every toddler, does not tire easily, and still really loves these songs and clips). Translations of song names were made while typing to enable some form of identification of the song to be played and are not the formal names, nor probably not the best translations.
