a few of my favorite parenting books for the 0-2 age

Before and During Yam's first two years, I've read quite a few parenting books. As I've been asked about my recommendations, I thought a post could be a convenient way to point to those which I personally found to be the more interesting, enriching and valuable to read:

"The Scientist in the Crib", "What's Going on in There" and "Diary Of A Baby" are excellent for those wishing to learn about all aspects of the development of their baby, and his/hers constantly changing perspective of life, the universe and everything around -

"How Smart Is Your Baby?" and "Smart Moves", despite a rather deterring effect because of the "smart" terminology in the headlines, are actually two of the best guides out there in evaluating your child's normal development, and assisting your baby in reaching their full potential, both physically, emotionally and cognitively. I highly recommend to read both just for a chance to be exposed to very important and enriching perspectives of babies development, if not for any other reason -

"Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" is an excellent guide for newbie parents. You don't have to do everything recommended there. But it is a great source of advise, and once again, in my mind, even if you detest "howto" books, this is a book worth reading just for knowing the approach and perspective -

Babies sleep is a huge issue, for the greater majority of parents. I still haven't found the perfect guide for babies sleep issues and therefore the more I'm learning and reading about this immensely complicated field, I'm seriously considering writing one myself. But if and until that happens, "The No-Cry Sleep Solution" is the best babies sleep guide I know of.  A simple to read, frank in attitude and very knowledgeable guide to help every parent whose dear little one is not a great sleeper.
